The Blood of Jesus

After studying about the blood of Jesus Christ, I’ve come to a conclusion that I had never known. The blood of Jesus is bigger than what I could imagine. His blood covers us in every way possible that you could think, which leads me to believe even further how much God, Our Father in Heaven, has made a way of escape for his children.

Many of us are familiar with the blood of Jesus being a form of protection, a form of power that can defeat the enemy. We rely on this heavily but have we taken into our spirit that the blood of Jesus forgives us for our sin? The blood does this. In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” - Hebrew 9:22

Not only does His blood forgives, purifies and cleanses us from sin; redeems and makes atonement {making amends for wrong doing} but have you considered that the blood brings fellowship with God? “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” Ephesians 2:13

Do we understand the blood holds justification {the action of showing something to be right or reasonable} before our Father in Heaven? Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!” Romans 5:9

Do we hold this dear to our heart? There’s life in the blood of Jesus. “For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.” John 6:55-59

There’s peace in God through the blood of Jesus. “For God was pleased to have all his Fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.” Colossians 1:19-20

I really believe if we can get back to the blood, understanding all that it offers, we as believers would not be so bound today.

Let us ponder on the blood of Jesus. Let us truly enter into the New Covenant that Jesus gave us through his bloodshed on the cross. He became the perfect sacrifice but do we really understand what this all means?

And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.” Hebrews 9: 15
