Love & War

Have you ever heard the phrase “All’s fair in love and war?” This phrase is used to describe a situation in which people do not follow the usual rules of behavior and do things that are normally considered unfair. Could it be that America is experiencing this right now?

God is calling us to love but hatred has filled the people’s heart. Many at this time believe it’s fair to hurt the innocent, destroy communities and run with a racist, destructive spirit [destroying unity] and causing division. The United States of America has entered into war on a deeper level.

The hearts of the people are hardened and it’s hard to see the truth through the lenses of hurt and pain. So what is the truth? The truth is the enemy is at war with God and the people are fighting this war from the earthly realm.

Many Believers are fighting this war in their flesh, adding strife and discord into the world when scriptures tell us in Ephesians 6:12- 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [a]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

God has been warning His people to stay close to Him due to gross darkness invading the earth. Isaiah 60:2 tells us “For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people”. If the Body of Christ stands on the side of darkness and close their ears to righteousness, what will be left of the Church?

This war is spiritual. We cannot war in the flesh to defeat the enemy of this world. 2 Corinthians 10:3 says “3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not [a]carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

If we want to win the war, we must remain in God. We must follow Him with all of our heart; putting on the full Armor of God, having nothing in common with the enemy.

God is Love. God is Justice. God is a man of war. Can you trust God to avenge His enemies? Will you allow for God to give you wisdom, discernment, and insight on how you can fight this spiritual warfare? Do not allow for your heart to become cold.

Deuteronomy 30:15-16, 19-20

15 “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, 16 in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.

19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; 20 that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”
