Living in Darkness Unaware

Updated: Nov 10, 2019

Have you ever lived in Darkness Unaware? Do you know that you could be fighting against God and not know it?

Many of us women are standing with God in His righteousness but many of us women are standing in darkness unaware. How can this be? How can we stand in darkness but feel like we're on the right side with God? Deception is rising like never before and it's rising with such a strong passion.

Passion

Passion is a strong and barely controllable emotion. Do you understand that "barely controllable" means that it's hard for you to control your emotions? I used to think passion was a good thing. People would use this word to describe someone or how someone felt about something in a positive way but after research, it challenged my mind to think differently.

I found that the New King James bible does not speak so highly of the word “passion”. There are only 6 scriptures that reference passion and they are all negative and I can understand why. If passion is described as “a strong and barely controllable emotion” this is the opposite of self-control which is one of the fruits of the Spirit and if deception is rising in such a strong passion, what do we have? We have a hard situation on our hands. Why?

Pride

Deception allows for us to believe something that is not true and with deception rising like never before, tied to passion, this leads to destruction. One of the biggest things that can open the door to deception is pride.

Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.

Have you ever had a conversation with someone and you share truth with that person and that person would not receive what you were saying? It’s real truth that you are giving them in hope to help them in some kind of way and they will not receive it at all. This is an example of Pride.

There’s a godly pride and an ungodly pride. The ungodly pride would have you walking in an attitude that you know all things, you are superior, no one can tell you wrong. It also includes an arrogant attitude that makes you look down on people, which in turn, promotes an ungodly self-esteem about yourself.

When you’re in this ungodly pride, it’s hard for you to receive the truth. Though you are thinking you know the truth, you really are far away from the truth but you stand in boldness and you stand strong in your position.

This was me and I honestly didn’t know that I was full of pride and had a haughty spirit was causing destruction and causing me to fall.

Destruction

Let’s talk about this scripture

Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.

Destruction is the action or process of causing so much damage to something that it no longer exists or cannot be repaired.

This can affect your relationships in life, you’re husband, your children, your friends and family. You can really cause major destruction when walking in pride.

A Haughty Spirit

What is a haughty spirit? It’s a spirit that is arrogantly superior and carries a form of disrespect. When you carry a haughty spirit you are considered a “stiff-necked” person.

I would like to share something with you that is pressing in my heart. Many women who are in high places, who are being leaders for our nation is carrying a "passionate, deceptive, haughty" spirit and it is leading to destruction and the only thing left is the Fall.

This is the truth. They are speaking in the name of God but they are not speaking through the Spirit of God. In fact it's the total opposite and it makes me think what side are they standing on?

David understood that haughtiness was something that God did not care for. David is a man after God’s own heart and when David minister to God in Psalm 131 (NKJV), he spoke and said

A Song of Ascents. Of David.

131 Lord, my heart is not haughty, Nor my eyes lofty. Neither do I concern myself with great matters, Nor with things too profound for me.

2 Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, Like a weaned child with his mother; Like a weaned child is my soul within me.

David was letting God know, my heart is not arrogant, I don’t see myself as being high and exalted, my soul is right before you. David was not fighting against God.

Deception, Destruction, Pride, and Haughtiness all falls under a realm of darkness. You may not be completely dark but you could have some dark spots in the mind that you have to work out of the mind to be free from living in darkness unaware.

Anything that is dark spiritually is “anti-God”. That means that some of our thoughts are not lined up with the Spirit of God which leaves us going against God. You belong to God but your mind is not right and this was me.

When I was living in darkness, I really was going against the Spirit of God unaware and it was a war between me and God and God won. Thank you Jesus!! God rules over darkness and God knows my final destination. He had to chastise me a few times but this was the best thing for me. I knew that God loved me and didn't want me to miss out on everything he had planned in my life. Scriptures tell us that he chastise's those that he loves and i'm so grateful for his love towards me. He did not want me to fall completely. He wanted me to change my heart and my mind to do what was right.

Because we are Chosen vessels for a special purpose in God, it doesn’t mean that when we fall God has left us. It means that we left God and at times we have to fall to get back to him. This is scary but at times necessary. We are no different than Paul and Peter.

Paul & Peter

Paul was crucifying the Christians before he turned his heart to the Lord but Paul had to have the special encounter with Jesus in order for him to understand that he indeed was walking on the wrong side.

Peter denied Jesus 3 x’s and Jesus told him he was going to and Peter didn’t believe him.

Do you see how strong deception can be within the people of God? Peter walked with Jesus day and night and still acted as if he knew more than Jesus did but Jesus loved Peter. He understood that Peter was going to fall, and He told Peter, when you come back to yourself, feed my sheep. Jesus already forgave Peter and when Peter realized the truth of what Jesus said He felt so unworthy and did not want to go on but Jesus being who he was, knew that Peter was going to get it right and Peter went forth preaching the Gospel in signs, wonders and miracles.

We have a chance to be like Paul and Peter. Though they were, they are no longer...

Be encouraged. God is calling you forth to come out of the darkness and enter into the Light of Jesus Christ.

Blessings!
