Autumn, also known as Fall, is a season of transition and it’s quite beautiful. The weather turns from a hot sticky climate, to a cool Autumn breeze, leaving you to feel the fresh wind blow upon your face as you take a drive to run errands, or take a walk across the street to visit a neighbor. You can smell the fresh crisp air as it touches your nose and you can tell that Fall is here once again.
Fall brings a sense of peace. It’s as if you have a second wind. You can feel the change in the atmosphere and most times it leaves you in awe. You know the season has changed, yet you’re not quite sure what to make of it. The freshness of Autumn leaves you to wonder… hmmm?
The true beauty of Autumn is when the tree leaves turn from a dark green to a beautiful bright orange, or perhaps a wild fiery red, to a gorgeously insane yellow. Though the leaves fall and transition away, the color brings life and excitement! It’s one of the most beautiful seasons that occur.
This beauty reminds me of our walk with God. We too are bright and beautiful in the eyes of the Father. As Fall comes to take its place, we too prepare for the new season. Transitioning from a place of hot weather (uncomfortable situations of life) entering into a cool breeze (peace, resting in the Father’s arms).
In Autumn, there’s also rain. A soft rain that sprinkles the air as a mist but at times we also experience down pours of rain showers.
Are you ready to hear the good news? Are you ready to hear the Father’s heart? God desires to restore His Goodness upon our lives in this Season. He’s ready to repay us for all that has been stolen from our past.
Be glad, people of Zion, rejoice in the Lord your God, for he has given you the autumn rains because he is faithful. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before. 24 The threshing floors will be filled with grain; the vats will overflow with new wine and oil.
25 “I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten— the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm[b]— my great army that I sent among you. 26 You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has worked wonders for you; never again will my people be shamed.
Never again are we to feel shame and degradation. God desires to wash away all of the hurt, pain, sorrow and confusion with His Autumn Rain. God wants to give you peace and joy. He wants to bring you new hope in this Season.
“and those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.”
He’s changing and rearranging the thoughts and mindsets of His Daughters all across the land. He’s ready to take us into a season of blessing and bring us into a place of safety.
Psalm 4:8
8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.
We know that God is near. We know that He has promised us great things and this Fall Season is preparing for us once again to come alive in the Father.
When Fall arrives we know the holidays are soon to come, and what do we do around the holidays? We sing and rejoice! We give God praise for all He has done for us! We celebrate the Goodness of the Lord!
God is doing something new. Can you see it? Can you feel it?
When God saved his chosen people (the Israelites) from Pharaoh (the enemy), Miriam the prophet and all of the ladies danced and rejoiced.
Exodus 15 New International Version (NIV)
19 When Pharaoh’s horses, chariots and horsemen[e] went into the sea, the Lord brought the waters of the sea back over them, but the Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground. 20 Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron’s sister, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women followed her, with timbrels and dancing. 21 Miriam sang to them:
“Sing to the Lord, for he is highly exalted. Both horse and driver he has hurled into the sea.”
No longer are we to be down trodden, allowing for our circumstances to hinder us from going forth. We are to move forward in Him, resting in His Presence.
Exodus 33:14
14 The LORD replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
This is the blessing of the Autumn Days. If you believe it, you shall receive it.
Rejoice in the Lord! It’s your time. It’s your Season.
Happy Autumn Days!
